How this calculator works
1
Traffic estimateMonthly searches × your capture % = extra visitors per month.
2
Revenue modelVisitors × conversion rate × customer value = monthly revenue. Then × your margin = monthly profit.
3
ROI over timeWith the ramp-up on, months 1–4 gradually reach full traffic. ROI = total profit ÷ total SEO spend.
How long before SEO starts working?▼
Most sites see meaningful traffic growth between months 3 and 6. That's why the calculator includes a 4-month ramp-up by default — it reflects reality. Competitive niches can take 6–12 months. New domains targeting low-competition keywords can rank in weeks.
What traffic capture % should I use?▼
If your site doesn't rank at all yet, start at 0.5–1%. An established site targeting the right keywords can realistically reach 2–5% of total search volume for its niche. These numbers reflect clicks across multiple ranking positions, not just position #1.
Is this the same as guaranteed results?▼
No. This calculator shows you what's possible based on your inputs — it's a planning tool, not a promise. Actual results depend on your niche competitiveness, site quality, content, and the SEO work being done. Use conservative estimates and treat the output as a realistic scenario, not a guarantee.
What if my numbers show no ROI?▼
That's useful information. It usually means one of three things: your customer value is too low for SEO to pay off at this price point, your conversion rate needs improving before traffic will help, or you need to negotiate a lower monthly investment. SEO isn't right for every business at every budget.
